End of Show Season and ICAS Convention.
(December 18, 2007)

We have come to the end of another successful season and are looking forward to 2008. Our annul ICAS (International Counsel of Airshows) Convention went very well this year with over 60 airshows stopping by the “Sons of Legends” booths. This was also an award winning event for the Franklins and the “Sons of Legends.”

Jimmy Franklin, Kyle’s Father, and founder of FFC was inducted into the prestigious ICAS Foundation Air Show Hall of Fame at the ICAS Chairman’s Banquet.

The 2007 “Sons of Legends” Magazine Ad created by Kyle Franklin with pictures from Scott Slocum, Bill Van Pelt, and Larry Raulston took 1st place in the ICAS Marketing Competition. (The 2006 “Sons of Legends” Magazine Ad took 2nd place in last years competition.)

Franklin’s Flying Circus took 3rd place in the Performer Video Marketing Competition. This video was also created by Kyle Franklin with film work by Amanda Franklin. You can see this video on our Video Page.

All and all it’s been a great year and we look forward to seeing you all next season at an airshow near you.

Jimmy Franklin to be inducted into Air Show Hall of Fame
(July 16, 2007)

AIR SHOW HALL OF FAME ANNOUNCES CLASS OF 2007
The ICAS Foundation has announced that they will induct four air show legends into the prestigious ICAS Foundation Air Show Hall of Fame. Jimmy Franklin, Jim Driskell, Danny Clisham and Sean D. Tucker join the ranks of other aviation greats who have been inducted into the Air Show Hall of Fame since its inception in 1995.

For many, Jim Franklin personified the innovation, daring and excitement of the air show business. On several different occasions, Franklin "reinvented" himself and his air show act to bring fresh ideas to the world of air shows.

Jim Driskell is best known as the "voice" of the world's greatest pilot, Robert H. "Bob" Hoover. Driskell set the standard in air show announcing professionalism from the early 1970s through the late 1990s.

Danny Clisham is one of America's most popular air show announcers. His encyclopedic knowledge of performers, sponsors, maneuvers and aircraft has made him one of the most successful and most popular announcers in air show history.

In addition to his hard-charging solo aerobatic performances, Sean D. Tucker has been an advocate for aviation safety, an accomplished speaker, a pioneer in air show corporate sponsorship, and a teacher and mentor for many of his colleagues in the air show business.

The induction ceremony will be held on Thursday, December 13 during the annual ICAS convention in December at the Rio All-Suites Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Cool Transfer Video!
(May 22, 2007)
There's a really cool video of the Motorcycle Transfer we did this year at Sun N' Fun at www.airshowbuzz.com. It has a much different perspective. Mark Magin with Onboard Images put a camera on the plane facing down and Andy the transfery had on a helmet cam. It's a cool video check it out.

Updated at last!!
(May 22, 2007)
I've finally finished most of my website. There are still a few things I'm working on and of course I'll keep updating my site with new things as we go. If there's anything I haven't put on my site, or things you would like to see put on it, let me know. Same with questions and comments, feel free to ask or tell us what you think about anything.
.
I got an email from someone wanting to see updated "Dracula" pictures. Unfortunately, I don't have any. I hope to get some new pictures later this season before Oshkosh. And for those of you that wanted to know Matt Younkin and myself will be flying Oshkosh this year. Matt's taking the Travel Air "Mystery Ship" and I'm bringing the Comedy in the Cub.

Hope you enjoy the updated site. My favorite is the History Pages.

Super Cub to Get Face Lift
(Nov. 4, 2006)
After its last show, Franklin's PA-18A Super Cub used in the Motorcycle-to-Plane Transfer and Comedy Act will be getting a face lift. It will be completely torn down for a full rebuild and run-though. The Cub, dubbed "Franklinstein," will also be repainted to our family colors of black, silver and red. Kyle will be doing most of the inspection and repair work, while Merrel Blalock with Blalock Aviation recoveres, paints, and fixes any other problems with our 1956 Cub.
So be looking for our beautiful "Franklinstein" in 2007!!
